Parvez Sazzad is a Bangladesh born sufi & folk artist.He was born on 17th February 1984 in Khulna. He started his study at the Udayan Higher Secondary School & completed his school on 1998, got admitted at Bangladesh Rifles Public School & College and finished his college on 2000. The he got admitted to the University of Dhaka on 2001 & finished his graduation on “International Relations” on 2007. He became obsessed with music at a very early age listening to his mothers melodious songs. Later on he started taking Indian classical music lessons from Sanjay Krishna Banik and continued for three years. Then he started learning Carnatic Classical music from Meghna Amin for seven years. Afterwards he took music lessons from Ustad Niaz Muhammad Chowdhury for several years.

Biography

He started his professional musical career on 2001 while he was a student of first year at the University of Dhaka. He released his debut songs “Jabi Jodi” & “A-Jibon” on 2008 in an album “Hridoy Mix”, composed by Hridoy Khan. His first solo album “Poth” was released on 2009 which was also composed by Hridoy Khan. Parvez Sazzad is the first ever Bangladeshi singer who succesfully blended Bengali sufi & folk genres with Pop, Jazz & Melo Rock. He released his second solo album “Prohor” on 2012 & his third solo album “Pagol” on 2016. Apart from that, he has sung a lot of playback songs in various movies.

Recent Awards

Singer Parvez has been honored with the Best Folk Singer (Music) award at the prestigious 20th CJFB (Cultural Journalists Forum of Bangladesh) Performance Award 2020. The event celebrated excellence in the Bangladeshi entertainment and music industry, recognizing outstanding contributions to art and culture.
